Ukraine Statement

Moore is deeply disturbed by the attack by Russian forces on the people of Ukraine. Moore has put controls and processes in place to ensure that the firm is fully in compliance with the EU sanctions package as communicated by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment as they relate to the Russian Federation and Belarus.
As part of the firm’s core values advocacy programme, Moore formed a strategic partnership with the Irish league of Credit Unions Foundation in 2015. This Foundation is the charitable arm of the Irish Credit Union movement whose mission is to alleviate poverty in developing countries by supporting credit unions, their representative bodies and other co-operative type organisations as a means for socio-economic development through the provision of financial and technical assistance.  We provided financial assistance and dispatched a team, pro-bono, to Kyiv in 2017 to assist UNASCU with the development of internal audit for credit unions on a pan-Ukrainian basis. On 4 March 2022, the Foundation pledged €50,000 in response to the ongoing crisis in Ukraine to support ongoing humanitarian efforts and the Ukrainian credit union movement.  This fund will be directed through Irish NGOs working on the ground and are best placed to respond to and scale up humanitarian efforts. Funds will also  be allocated to UNASCU to assist them in re-starting their activities once peace returns. Moore would like to confirm that Moore has pledged a further €5,000 to this worthy cause and Moore will send a team to Kyiv again, to assist them in re-starting their activities, once peace returns.
Beyond this, in keeping with the firm’s core values of care, solidarity and mutuality, Moore has initiated an internal collection with all proceeds going to the Irish Red Cross Ukrainian Crisis Appeal.
